Wish upon a falling star

How often do you see a shooting star?

Today is National Meteor Day and the idea might inspire you to take a look at the sky tonight.

Because of the rarity of meteors, when people see a falling star, they usually make a wish.

The tradition of wishing upon a shooting star dates back to 127 AD.

Astronomers hypothesised that gods in the heavens watch people on Earth.

Back in the day, when people saw a shooting star, they would make a wish because they felt the gods were paying attention.

And that is how the tradition about wishing upon a falling star started.

There is only one way to celebrate National Meteor Day and that is by gazing into the sky tonight and should you see a shooting star, make a wish.
