GALLERY: Shelter for assembly

KROMDRAAI – Trinity House Little Falls and Renico donated a shelter to Matla Combined School on 26 June.

Matla Combined School celebrated the unveiling of their newly sheltered assembly area in style with entertainment from their pupils for their guests. Trinity House Little Falls and Renico Construction were the main role players in getting the school a shelter. “The rainy and extra hot days will not get in the way of our assembly and other activities anymore,” said deputy principal of the school, Mpule Lelake as she thanked the responsible parties. She added that this is the most beautiful dream that she has ever woken up from.

Trinity House Little Falls has been involved with Matla Combined School for many years in aid of helping them better their school. Principal of Trinity House Hennie Strydom said that the shelter comes from the heart of the school and all of the pupils. “It is our duty to help our community and those around us when we can,” said Strydom.

“This truly means a lot to us as pupils. This kind of stuff doesn’t really happen often in our school, that is why I am so happy and excited about this shelter,” said a Grade 9 pupil Emmie Mwask of Matla Combined School.

Renico Construction’s marketing director Nico Louw explained that it was a privilege for the Renico Group to be involved with the Matla School. “We want to make a difference in the community but also in the lives of children,” added Louw.

“I am very happy that external businesses and companies have come together to help out at the schools. Schools are here to develop human potential so it is important that people come together to achieve this,” explained Gauteng Provincial Department of Education West District office representative Sarel Streicher.
