Dominance Day for ER24

ER24 West Rand hosted the Branch Dominance Day

The West Rand was covered in a sea of red on Friday as ER24 conducted its Branch Dominance Day event.

The day had ER24 branch managers, medics and staff from the Gauteng province such as East Rand, Vereeniging and Vaal areas.

The teams were going around different points in the West Rand and interacting with the public.

From Florida and Ruimsig to Roodekrans and Florida Glen, they were interacting with the community. “This is a day where we raise awareness to the public about who we are and that we are there for the community during any emergency situation. Along with security companies in those specific areas such as Apcan and community patrollers, we spend the whole day getting to know the community,” West Rand branch manager Hentie Malan.

Later in the night, some crews from the different branches braved the cold on Friday night to be on call with the West Rand team.

They responded to accidents in Blueberry and Ruimsig, swiftly assisting the patients to safety.

Apcan sales manager Tertius Weideman was at the Roodekrans leg of the journey and said it is important for them to be involved in such community driven events.

“We are involved with ER24 and we want to show the community that we are not only an armed reaction unit but we do have an ER24 trained medic in our unit. This is a fantastic way to raise awareness to the public especially with crime in the area,” he said.
