Theatre celebrates Mandela Day

Underprivileged to benefit.

Roodepoort Theatre and Alexander’s Harvest Time Foundation are hosting a Mandela Day on 18 July to benefit the underprivileged.

The objective of the day’s activities is to honour the late former Nelson Mandela. Children from underprivileged backgrounds will be transported to the Roodepoort Theatre and will partake in ‘wellness’ testing. The testing stations will focus on diabetes, cholesterol and HIV.

Other issues which will be addressed are alienation, loneliness and anti-social behavious among the youth. The recreational activities planned for the day are aimed at building relations among people from different backgrounds.

The community can get involved by being part of the day’s activities and by offering any form of support through sponsorships for the children’s playtime activities.

The event will commence at 10am.
