Muldersdrift SAPS steps up fight against crime

MULDERSDRIFT — Life sentences for gangs of crime in Muldersdrift.

A group of four hard criminals, arrested by Muldersdrift SAPS detectives, recently received harsh sentences in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court.

According to the spokesperson for Muldesdrift Police Station Warrant Officer Hitler Ngwenya, the group operated around the Muldersdrift area and had previous convictions to their names.

“The detectives managed to identify a group of 12 criminals, consisting of three or four in each group that operated in the area. They were charged with murder, housebreakings and robberies.”

Ngwenya added that some of the suspects with previous criminal records, were handed down life sentences and 148 years in prison, “The other groups are still behind bars,” he continued.

Meanwhile on 20 June, detectives Mcedisi Bambiso and Joe Mashaba arrested four people for armed robbery and assault.

“It is alleged that a man was walking along Beyers Naudé Drive in Muldersdrift toward his home when a car suddenly stopped in front of him,” said the detectives.

Four suspects emerged from an unidentified, VW Golf and demanded money and other belongings from the victim. According to the police report, the victim was badly assaulted and left on the side of the road.

“The victim was able to identify the suspects and the detectives successfully captured them. As the station, we applaud the good work done by the detectives and their swift reaction to the crime,” added WO Ngwenya.
