Baby Moses recieves blessing

Radio 702 celebrated their 35th birthday and partnered with Spar by helping those in need.

Radio 702 celebrated their 35th birthday with Baby Moses Sanctuary yesterday as a form of giving back to the community and “it was a humbling experience,” said Romaana Naidoo from Primedia.

Baby Moses is a non-profit sactuary which was established about 13 years ago. It is a place of safety for babies, toddlers and teenagers who have been neglected and abandoned.

The Sanctuary consist of 23 children in the West Rand and their age groups range from about a few days old to 17-years-old.

Every year 702 asks the community to nominate a charity organisation they think may be in need – this year it was Baby Moses’ lucky year as they got nominated by an anonymous source.

“I don’t think I’ve taken all of it in yet,” said Lani de Klerk joyfully, founder of Baby Moses.

“The expression on the childrens faces were indescribable when they saw the toys and I have to admit, they seemed more interested in the toys than anything else,” laughed Lani.

702 and Spar awarded them with R15 000 Spar vouchers, educational toys and groceries.

“This means so much to us and I am grateful to the person who nominated us. Thank you so much,” Lani said.
