GALLERY: British American Tobacco Company vehicle hijacked

HONEYDEW– British American Tobacco Company vehicle hijacked by eight armed men.

Eight armed men hijacked a British American Tobacco Company vehicle on 23 June at 8.40am in Honeydew.

The vehicle was forced off the road by three vehicles: a white Isuzu bakkie, a white Corsa bakkie and a charcoal Audi A4.

According to Honeydew SAPS spokesperson Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs, “The suspects were armed with handguns and rifles. The suspects
off-loaded the cigarettes onto their vehicles and forced the driver into the Audi.” The driver was then left in a nearby field in Honeydew.

WO Jacobs said that no shots were fired and the police are looking for eight armed suspects. The scene on Cyprus Road in Honeydew where the apparent British American Tobacco Company vehicle was recovered, was littered with empty cigarette boxes. A representative for the British American Tobacco Company was on scene but declined to divulge any information.
A case of hijacking and kidnapping was opened at Honeydew Police Station .
