A woman and her two-year-old child were killed after they were hit by a motor vehicle on Peter Road in Ruimsig this morning.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found the two lifeless bodies in the middle of the road.
The light motor vehicle that collided with the pedestrians had stopped a few metres away.
According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, paramedics assessed the scene and discovered that both the mother and child had sustained fatal injuries in the collision.
Unfortunately nothing more could be done for the patients and they were declared dead.
The driver of the light motor vehicle did not sustain any injuries.
According to reports, the driver of the vehicle failed to notice the pedestrians crossing the road.
