Has she been looking for you?

The dog has been accompanying shoppers at a local shopping centre but actually just wants to go back home.

A resident found an adorable little female dog at Witpoortjie Shopping Centre (colloquially referred to as Pick n Pay Witpoortjie) following shoppers around.

Ian Smith brought the dog to the Record offices, not knowing what to do with her but not wanting her to be hit by a vehicle at the busy centre.

The canine is wearing a red material collar and can be recognised by her shiny, long-haired black coat, white and brown paws and large, fluffy ears.

After running around and entertaining staff at the Record offices, the dog was sat down for a quick snapshot and Smith agreed to hand her in to Roodekruin Veterinary Clinic on CR Swart Road.

The clinic’s receptionist Danielle Duvenage confirmed that the dog was handed in.

“We’ll keep her for a day or two to allow his rightful owners to claim her, after that period we’ll have to hand her over to the Roodepoort SPCA and the owners will have to undergo a separate process to reclaim her,” Duvenage said.

The Roodekruin Veterinary Clinic can be contacted on 011 764 6262 or 011 764 6216.

The more information about the dog is shared on social media, the more likely his owners will recognise him.
