Tshepang raise child protection awareness

Child Protection and Awareness at Tshepang

Tshepang Programme for Orphaned and Vulnerable Children hosted a child protection awareness programme this weekend.

Ward 85 Councillor Carl Mann, representatives from the National Association of Child and Youth Care Workers and community members in Princess Informal Settlement were invited to attend the event.

Tshepang’s founder and director Susan Rammekwa welcomed the guests and children that were in attendance.

The staff of Tshepang then put on an informative play for the children depicting an uncle raping his nephew, teaching the children to always report incidences of such nature if they occur.

Mann, who has been working closely with Tshepang said he would like to fix the broken down jungle gym that has become a danger for the children to play in.

“I would like to appeal to the community to help wherever they can. The railings of the jungle gym are broken and children can lose their balance and fall. I would like to fix that,” he said.
