Here’s to a green, greener world

Imagine what the world would be like if everyone took part in preserving the environment...

Every year, on 5 June, people all over the world raise global awareness to protect nature and the planet. The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) initiated this and the theme for this year is: sustainable lifestyles.

This annual event is all about taking care of planet Earth and encouraging others to do so as well.

So how can you celebrate World Environment Day by living a sustainable life?

Here are a few ideas:

• Plant a tree

• Grow vegetables in your garden

• Pick up scattered litter in your area

• If you have not recycled yet, now is the perfect time to start.
