Dedicate this day to the children

It is International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression and today we recognise children who are victims of physical and psychological violence.

An act originally for children afflicted with violence brought on by the Lebanon war in 1982, now recognises children worldwide of similar violence.

Since the war, the UN (United Nations) made a commintment to protect the rights of children which was established on 19 August 1982..

The Republic of Slovenia also introduced this act by encouraging the public to raise awareness in protecting children from violence and armed conflicts.

The Convention on the Rights of the Child protects the basic human rights of all children. From having a right to survival, to having a right to the protection of harmful influences.

Many children are abducted and killed all over the world. Some are even forced to do extreme labour at a very young age. Let us acknowledge them today and dedicate this day to the children.
