GALLERY: Adopt a cat

ROODEPOORT – SPCA manager urges people to ensure that they are allowed cats at their complex before adopting them.

The Roodepoort SPCA manager Mandi Cattanach said they have lots of cats up for adoption.

“The same adoption process applies for cats and dogs. So if people want to adopt a cat or a kitten we will still have to conduct a pre-home inspection to see if the house and property are cat friendly,” explained Cattanach.

She added that people need to check their complex rules and regulations to make sure that they can keep cats.

“This is a big problem as people have cats and then later they discover that the complex doesn’t allow any cats and thus they bring them in for adoption.”

Cattanach said this is one of the big reasons why people bring their cats to the SPCA.

“Currently, our cattery is full of lovely cats that are looking for the perfect family, so we urge people to come and take a look,” concluded Cattanach.
