JMPD has confirmed one of their officers, previously stationed in Dobsonville has been arrested for allegedly raping a 16-year-old.
The alleged rape took place two weeks ago at the suspects home in Bram Fischerville where it is alleged he first drugged her before raping her in his bathroom.
The officer is currently still in custody.
JMPD spokesperson Wayne Minnaar has said as soon as the officer is released the Metro Police will launch their own internal investigation and strip him of his uniform.
The suspect is expected to be released on bail on Wednesday.
