Pikitup bin thieves arrested thanks to Florida police

"I saw two men pushing the bins at an alarming speed."

On Thursday 30 April I was at Church/Sauer Street on a business call when I received a Florida Block Watch WhatsApp alert. It read that suspects removed two Pikitup bins from a home in Daniel Malan Street, Florida Park. Just after I have seen the message I saw two men pushing the bins at an alarming speed. I drove frantically to the Florida Police and approached Constable Ndlovu who was at the mobile caravan unit and informed him about the theft happening at that moment.

He was efficient and most proactive to get into my vehicle while we searched for these two men. We found them at Westlake Avenue, Florida Lake where he proceeded to stop and search them. He demanded them to lie down on the ground and began with investigation. He then called for backup and very quickly after that a police vehicle came by and arrested them.

I must commend the manner and professionalism that Constable Ndlovu has demonstrated. He acted in the interest of the people. His caliber is a true example of what a policeman should be. He was courteous and not bureaucratic like most policemen behave. He is definitely a shining star and should be regarded a role model by his team.

I am really proud that he is working in the Florida Police. We definitely need more men of his caliber in policing. A job well done to Constable Ndlovu. Keep up the good work! The Florida community appreciates it!
