Please, remember the recommendations

Recommendations, poem written by Dave ‘forever’ Young

Please remember, don’t forget,

All the recommendations swept under the carpet:

All the recommendations made by a State enquiry board,

All those that our nation can ill-afford!

Such as the Arms Deal which goes on and on,

And nothing, but nothing, ever gets done;

Or the enquiry over security, at Guptagate,

Where nothing has been revealed by the State;

Or the Marikana disaster, which found its way to the top,

And now, sadly, has come to a full stop!

Then there’s the long awaited Nkandla scandal

That seems to be too hot to handle!

Those recommendations may never see the light of day.

They’ll be filed in some state vault out of the way!

Recommendations must be carried out by an authority,

No matter what anyone else might say!

Why instigate an enquiry, if you don’t heed the recommendation?

Is it simply a fishing trip meant to fool the nation?

President Zuma has had nearly a ten year reign,

Some hope we never have to go through that again!!!!!

Thank goodness we still have free speech,

Otherwise no-one would be able to read what I teach!!!!
