Three injured in N1 collision

Three were injured in a collision between two vehicles on the N1 Gordon Road off-ramp before the long weekend kicked off.

On Thursday night 30 April three people were injured following the collision said Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha.

“Exact details to the cause of the accident between the VW Polo and Hyundai, that were travelling in the same direction, are still speculative,” Botha in a press statement said.

“Paramedics found that the VW Polo had overturned on impact.

“The other vehicle spun off the road and was found folded around the pole of a street light.

“Some of the occupants were found trapped in the twisted frames of the vehicle,” Botha said.

Paramedics worked fervently to stabilise the injured at the scene. One occupant, 18, was in critical condition and was airlifted to a hospital. The other two seriously injured patients were transported by ambulance for further medical care, Botha said.
