GALLERY: Mothers honoured at pre-prep school

LITTLE FALLS – Mother's Day celebrations come early at Trinityhouse Pre-Primary Little Falls.

Trinityhouse Pre-Primary Little Falls hosted a special early Mother’s Day tea party on 8 May.

Mothers and pupils were treated to a lovely morning filled with tea, cakes, and activities. The event also saw Grade 0 and R pupils come together to perform songs and fun demonstrations to the visiting mothers and aunts. Classrooms were specially decorated by teachers and pupils to welcome the visiting mothers, aunts and grannies.

Principal at the pre-primary school Lynn van Jaarsveld was pleased to see the pupils’ excitement and the wonderful turnout from the family members. “We celebrate our mothers here at the school, it is very important to us. We are very happy to treat them this morning, just to say thank you for everything that they do, and to spend time with their little ones. It also gives us an opportunity to show mothers what we do in the classroom every day,” she said.

Van Jaarsveld revealed that this type of event was not the first time that the school has done some like this. “This is the third time that we have arranged an event like this, since the school opened in 2012. We also make an effort to celebrate Father’s Day.

She continued to explain that the turnout at their Mother’s Day events have always been high. “Very few of our mothers are unable to come. And if mothers are unavailable they either send out an aunt or grannie to take their place,” she said.
