GALLERY and VIDEO: Flash mob shocks all

STRUBEN'S VALLEY – Flash mob surprises Cleat Water Mall food court.

A flash mob, with synchronised, flashy and funky dance moves organised by Abraham Kriel Homes, stunned shoppers at Clearwater Mall on 8 May.

The mob of vibrant dancers, which included more than 20 children from the home, were uniting in support of the Abraham Kriel Homes. Shoppers in the food court were blown away by the performance and applauded their efforts. Abraham Kriel have homes throughout Johannesburg and take care of children that come from a traumatic background. “The homes provide both residential care and community services and focus on providing shelter, care and rehabilitation for children between the ages of birth and 18 years old, who have been subjected to trauma, abuse, molestation, poverty and neglect,” said marketing manager Hilda du Toit.

The flash mobs were created to raise awareness for their new #Dare2Care Campaign. Through this project they aim to get the public to commit to a monthly monetary contribution for at least 12 months. The funds raised will go toward feeding the hungry children that frequently enter their homes. “We care for about 1 100 children across our homes and these mobs are here to help people become aware of what we do.”
