Pupils learn safety

Dios Los Ninos School is taught about safety practices by Dash members.

Two representatives from the Dash (Develop Awareness and Safety Hazards for children) company recently paid a visit to the Dios Los Ninos School (DLN), Radiokop.

The main goal of the visit was to create safety awareness and to teach safety tips to the school’s pupils. The company usually makes use of four characters during their visits and the chosen character then educates the pupils. The character chosen for this particular visit was KC Koala.

Grade 0 – 3 pupils were actively engaged in the talk, where K.C Koala taught pupils how to deal with a bully in life. The show had an interactive session of singing, acting and, illustrations.

Principal of the school Leonie Fourie was pleased with the visit. “They enjoyed the show far more than I could ever have imagined,” she said. “The show was literally ‘short and sweet’, which is perfect for young pupils. The pupils enjoyed it so much that I am planning to book another character for next term. Even our Labrador retriever at the school, Tesco, loved KC Koala’s company and couldn’t get enough of him,” she said.
