UPDATE: Bomb scare in Strubens Valley

STRUBENS VALLEY – Workers are told to leave because there may be a bomb.

Update: The police K9 Unit cleared all the buildings of the bomb threat at the Clearwater Office Park on 24 April at 9.30am. Four  K9 units arrived at the office park to first search building four, the unit that had the proposed bomb. After about an hour of searching all the buildings, employees were aloud to return to work as usual.

Officials say that the email can be traced as you must own a Mweb address.

A bomb scare has been reported at Clearwater Office Park, Strubens Valley, this morning. The area has been cordoned off and traffic redirected in nearby roads. Honeydew Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs confirmed that a bomb threat occurred, and said that police are on scene, investigating. The threat came in the form of an email, said Sammy Erasmus, regional manager for Ansell Property Holding, the owners of the office park.

She explained that at 6.20am an email was sent to the company’s property manager, Chris Renke, claiming that a bomb was planted in building four, and other bombs have also been planted in other buildings in the office park. The email came from an unknown Mweb email adddress.

Emergency services are also on scene.
