On Monday night 21 April while the man was presumably travelling home from work, he was hijacked on the bridge of Gordon Road just after 14th Avenue. He drove a whie BMW X5, registration number X5SPORT GP, that hijackers took control of and drove him around in.
According to alert messages circulated on crime alert groups on Whatsapp, the men proceeded to drive the victim around in Roodepoort and eventually, to Randfontein. It is understood that he got hold of his cell phone and contacted his family to fetch him where the hijackers dropped him off in Randfontein. It is understood that a case was opened with the Florida Police, who have not been available to comment.
