From the dark underbelly to the light

A dark and disturbing tale unfolded when a 30-year-old Horizon View woman spoke about her journey into the satanic underworld.

For four years, she was not only a drug addict but also actively involved in Satanism. Although her story sounded like a sci-fi horror movie, she assured the Record everything was real and it should not be perceived as fiction.

She said her father was a Satanist and she did not think anything of it since she was told her ancestors were ridiculed as witches and burned at the stake in Ireland. Her mother did not allow her father to practise witchcraft in their home. Her parents divorced and after school, she moved in with her dad and his wife.

“They often held rituals in their home and I participated since my father told me he was calling on his ancestors when he in fact was calling up demons. He often said he was mightier than God and he invited sangomas into our home.”

She said when her father suggested she go through an initiation process to become a Satanist she agreed because she felt close to her dad and did not want to disappoint him. “I was very scared during the initiation but I also knew I had to go through with it. It was now or never.”

She explained during her initiation she was lying in a bath covered with a sangoma blanket. “They kept on pouring water over the

blanket onto my face until I lost consciousness. I wanted to pull the blanket off my face but could not. During the blackout my father, as part of the initiation, had to rape me to transfer the demons into me. I regained consciousness five hours later and had cuts covered in muti all over my body.”

For three days, she said, she could not walk. She said she chose the sexual manipulation powers by which she could control men. “Everything that was dark and dangerous was part of my life. For four years I was involved actively in witchcraft. We often held séances during which I felt myself on an abnormal high, almost like on drugs. My whole body shook.”

During the séances, she explained, they would sit in a row with candles around them. “Wool is used to transfer even more demons into us. Since my father was very high up in the cult, his power was to manipulate others by manifesting through facial contortions. He was facing murder charges and used his powers to control the witnesses’ statements. He eventually was found not guilty.”

She said she often used drugs with her father and after her grandmother had died he obtained another power – astral projection. She explained this as being in two places at once. “His face would change and once he wanted to kill me with a meat cleaver. He treated everybody very badly.”

She said the demons continuously tortured her and that often they pinned her down. “I remember one night when a friend came over. We had candles all over the room and we were using a lot of drugs. While she was in the bathroom, I decided to record the event. The next morning I replayed the video and I could hear the demons’ voices clearly. I could see them, I always was scared of them.”

After her father had tried to kill her, she moved back to her mother and tried to break away from the cult, but her father would send demons to torture her. “I was scared all the time and had terrible nightmares,” she said and added that she almost over-dosed on drugs. “I knew I had to change and admitted myself into rehab. Unfortunately that did not work. Every morning I first had to sniff two lines before I could get going. I would Google convents in the area because I was convinced it was the only way to get out of this cult.”

She underwent three deliverance sessions before she was rid of the demons. “The demons were called by their names. My whole body shook because the demons refused to leave me. Eventually I coughed them out. After four years, I was saved from a life of hell.”

She said she does not think about her past too often but she knows what hell is like. “I know the dark side of life. Fortunately, I now have authority over the demons because I was saved. In the beginning I would long for the reckless and disturbing life, but not anymore. Although it is a difficult journey, I know Jesus took a broken person and healed me. He died for my sins and although people might think I am crazy, I know I have been saved.”

She explained how her younger sister also used to be involved in Satanism, but fortunately she also has been freed.

“I know it sounds as if I am mad, but I would like to warn people that they should not dwell in the dark side of Satanism. Your life is one of constant fear and torture. They can be saved, they can be healed because God is mightier and stronger than the devil. Only through Him you can get out.”

She said people who relate to her story are urged to find help. “When you feel lost and want peace and salvation, you have to seek God’s help. Jesus loves all of us; it is up to us to reach out and take His hand.”
