Lions host Buddy Day
This past Saturday the Lions Helderkruin hosted their annual Buddy Day alongside six other Lions clubs at Westridge High School.
Buddy Day is an initiative of West Rand Lions clubs where pupils from different schools get an opportunity to partner and take care of mentally and/or physically disabled guests. The day is fun orientated with various activities and entertainment on offer.
According to Lions District General for District 410, Dave Cousins this is an eye opening experience for the buddies and usually have a profound effect on their insights into the lives of those less fortunate than themselves. The buddies also receive a certificate which counts towards the community service component of their Life Orientation subject.
This year there were various stalls with fun games, musicians, tasty treats, a Michael Jackson impersonator as well as magicians whom the buddies and their guests could enjoy.
Other Lions clubs in attendance were Clearwater Cyber, Krugersdorp, The Wilds, Northcliff and Johannesburg South.
