Man arrested for heroine

A man was arrested and appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court after Florida Police found heroin and syringes on him.

On Monday 13 April the two officers that work in the Crime Prevention unit of the Florida Police were performing normal crime prevention duties in and around Florida Lake. At around 1pm they noticed two suspicious men walking along 4th Avenue.

“They requested to search them and on one suspect, the officers found a packet of cream or white-brownish powdery substance suspected to be heroin,” Florida Police spokesperson Lydia Dikolomelo told the Record.

“They also found one black-blueish string and three syringes.”

The man, 36, tried to flee but was caught and arrested. He was detained at Roodepoort Police Station and was charged with possession of drugs soon after which he appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court.
