Various versions of this morning’s bus shooting is surfacing.
According to ER24 only the bus driver was injured but Captain Lydia Dikolonelo of Florida SAPS told the Record that the driver and one passenger were shot in the hip. Esther Dreyer of Metrobus said two passengers and the driver were injured.
According to certain accounts the driver got shot when he tried to protect his passengers.
Colonel Cassie Rautenbach of Florida SAPS said there were five suspects pretending to be passengers who got on to the Witpoortjie – Sandton bus at about 5.40am. They immediately opened fire and robbed passengers of valuables such as cell phones and wallets.
The driver was taken to Flora clinic and the passenger to Helen Joseph Hospital.
No arrests have been made yet.
