Zooty Carts

From 27 to 31 March, an incredibly fun Zooty Carts track will be set up in the square area at Silverstar from 11am to 6pm allowing children to get active while enjoying the fresh outdoors.

Wits Planetarium at Wits University in Braamfontein

The planetarium provides an amazing outlook on astronomy that will keep your child gasping endlessly. It casts a wide lens on to star signs and the movement of the moon in relation to Earth.

Easter Garden

If your little ones love playing with their friends while decorating eggs, watching puppet shows or going on an adventurous Easter egg hunt, then Silverstar’s Easter Garden, manned by registered child minders, is the perfect place to be. Colouring in and dancing competitions will also be on offer for anyone who wants to enter and there are loads of prizes to be won daily over the Easter weekend (3 until 6 April).

Ten Pin bowling, arca games and laser tag

The popular activities that are available at Silverstar this holiday, which includes arcade games, ten-pin bowling and a thrilling laser tag facility. Visitors can also expect to find giant Jenga, noughts and crosses and an addictively fun game called ‘Beat the Buzzer’ on the outdoor square From 7 to 13 April, between 10am and 6pm.

Movies

If you are looking for something a little more relaxed, then watching movies is the way to go. Top movies to look out for these holidays include Cinderella, Fast and Furious 7, The Book of Life, Insurgent and The Boy Next Door. Visit your nearest Ster kinekor.

Sci-Bono at Corner of Miriam Makeba and President Streets, Johannesburg

This discovery centre presents a great opportunity for your child to enjoy fun, educational knowledge about many aspects in general science.

On 28 March until 12 April the phenomenal qualities of light will be explored during a fantastic holiday programme titled Frantic Photons. Dr. Stephen Ashworth from the University of East Anglia will be presenting the awe-inspiring and informative show, Light Fantastic. During this free show the special properties of lasers are explored and how lasers can be put to good use in our daily lives.

Serendipity at Rosebank

This place is what dreams are made off, it is a magical escape which overflows with fun-filled activities such as arts and crafts, baking and also story time to keep your child giggling with pleasure, and a gift shop that will transform your child into their favourite character.

Johannesburg Zoo

Visit the Joburg zoo, with a selection of animals, reptiles, fish and birds to study and admire.
