Funny man Pravesh

ALLEN'S NEK– Pravesh is our local funny man.

Local comedian Pravesh Mungaldave (37) will be performing at Silverstar Casino  on 17 and 18 April.

Mungaldave has performed in Durban, at the Johannesburg Civic Theatre and the Pretoria State Theatre, and recently completed his first 60-minute show at Garden Route Casino.

He won the Gauteng Humorous Speech Contest in 2008 as the only novice entrant, and is now vice president of Toastmasters International for Area H.

It was this award that inspired him to incline his talent in the direction of stand-up comedy.

“Your persona changes when you get on stage; your energy levels and attitude change,” said Mungaldave.

He is currently working on material for his one-man show that is based on the human behaviours that he encounters from day to day.

The Allen’s Nek resident uses material in his shows that no one has listened to. In other words, he steers away from topical jokes as he wants his “audience to hear material that is new to them.”

In his other time, Mungaldave does training in public speaking for companies and businesses.

His future plans include having his newly-developed company, Side Splitting Entertainment, up and running. The business will focus on the entertainment aspect of an event, such as music, comedy, performance and coordination.

Mungaldave’s favourite local comedian is Riaad Moosa, and he lists Chris Rock and Russel Peters as his top international comedians.
