Senyaka Kekana dies

JOBURG – Minister of Sports and Recreation Fikile Mbalula has announced on twitter that Senyaka Kekana has died.

Minister of Sports and Recreation Fikile Mbalula confirmed on twitter that the singer and actor Senyaka Kekana has passed away.

Minister Mbalula said that he heard the news of the singer from Zynne ‘Mahoota’ Sibika.

Kekana rose to fame in the 1980s and is known by his fans for starring as Moruti wa Tsotsi (An outrageous pastor), in the feature film Moruti Wa Tsotsi and also television series Confessions to Moruti wa Tsotsi.

According to national reports, family spokesperson Papa Tladi, said he had been diagnosed with pneumonia and his condition deteriorated over the past 48 hours.

Fans will remember Kekana by his hits, Chisa Mpama, Romeo Wa nkolota and Fong Kong which were popular.

Senyaka (58) leaves behind two children a boy and a girl.
