Alleged drunk driver appears in court

ROODEPOORT – Man who killed two elderly ladies in a car accident appears in court.

The alleged drunk driver, who killed two elderly women in a car accident, appeared briefly in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court recently.

The case was postponed till 14 April, pending further investigations.

Two sisters-in-law, Noleen Kroezen and Joanne Hobson, both aged 65, tragically lost their lives in the accident that occurred on 30 January.

The third occupant of the vehicle they were travelling in, is said to be still in hospital.

She has undergone several operations.

The accused is facing charges of drunken driving and two counts of culpable homicide.

The 35-year-old accused is out on R 4 000 bail.

Daughter-in-law of one of the deceased, Maxine Hobson said, as the family, all they want to see is justice being served.
