Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) officials escorted by members of the Roodepoort police entered the Dayspring Cambridge International Study Centre’s premises at about 11.20am this morning in order to close the school down.
This would appear to be the final salvo in the war between the owner of the school, Sue Parry and her neighbours who bitterly opposed the opening of the unregistered school in their neighbourhood.
A visibly upset Parry and a fellow teacher arrived shortly after the officials but she declined to comment.
An unofficial source that was present at the meeting indicated that the doors will not close immediately since the GDE now has to follow certain protocol.
