R15 million upfront for new foundation

HONEYDEW – The first Liqui Moly and Prost Foundation is set to open on Mandela Day.

German oil company Liqui Moly will establish a foundation in South Africa with a R15 million cash boost from owner Ernst Prost.

This was announced at a press conference in Honeydew on 4 March, and comes after the new partnership between the company and Joint Aid Management (JAM).

Prost reiterated the importance for every person to give back, not only to our communities but to the environment.

“We [humans] take and destroy our planet but what do we give or leave for our children? It is up to the human race to help itself. It is a must that when you have good luck or success in life that you give back. I am here to assist.”

Liqui Moly will also work with JAM South Africa in reaching the set goals of feeding every hungry child in the country and providing education.

In addition, every R10 from the additives purchased from Liqui Moly will go to JAM, and every R10 from the purchase of their motorcycle range will go toward educating a child.

“It is wonderful to have such a partnership with such a big company. It is through these partnerships that we can make a difference. A partnership like this will also help us to get to more areas but also go deeper, so we are not just feeding these children but we can also provide education and train caregivers etc,” said JAM managing director David Brown.

The Liqui Moly and Prost Foundation is expected to be launched on 18 July, coinciding with International Mandela Day.
