Kloofendal nature walks season is almost here

KLOOFENDAL — Exciting new trails as nature walks begin in March.

The friends of Kloofendal are calling all nature lovers ahead of a guided walk through the Kloofendal Nature Reserve.

The guided nature educational walks and goldmine tours will begin on 7 March throughout the month.

“The walks are in the morning or at night, so any person interested is welcome to come. These events are during the weekends and are two hours long. After the rains and the warm temperatures, all the creatures in Kloofendal are alive and active and it is just so fantastic to observe,” said Karin Spottiswoode, spokesperson for Friends of Kloofendal.

The walks vary from observing and identifying trees and birds to walking all the way to the dam to look for water insects where jars and nets will be provided.

The nature walks are perfect for the whole family and a few, including the tree course, allow for camping stools and refreshments. Whether you are a nature lover or just simply looking to enrich your knowledge on indigenous trees or wild flowers, you can book your spot for the trails.

“We still have our monthly events, which include birding for everyone, butterflies and goldmine tour for adults and children from the 15 years upwards,” Spottiswoode concluded.
