Carjacking: Look out for this vehicle

The vehicle is suspected to be used by carjackers to travel and identify vehicles to steal in the area.

Members of the Honey Hills Block Watch are distributing photos of a vehicle that they suspect carjackers use to travel into the area.

The vehicle has been noted slowly driving by potential vehicles to steal and making repeat visits to the general Honey Hills area, block watch spokesperson Margaret Roodt said.

Along with Whatsapp messages and social media posts in which the photo of a light blue Diahatsu Sirion is shared, Roodt cautions the community that the vehicle travels at high speed.

On Valentines Day (14 February) a vehicle was stolen and the Sirion was noted near the scene. The photo shared was taken off CCTV camera footage captured on 28 January with a previous carjacking incident.

To report spotting this vehicle or other suspicious activity, contact the block watch on 082 940 3509 or the Florida Police Station on 011 831 7000.
