Sarda hosts fun day for the whole family

RUIMSIG — Bring the whole family out and support local NGO Sarda.

The South African Riding for the disabled Association (Sarda) will host a family fun day on 21 February in Ruimsig.

From 10 am, you can pack a picnic basket and have a day out in the sun with the whole family.

Pony rides for the little ones will be available as part of the R40 entrance fee.

“We will have a braai going on and a play area for all the little ones. This is our way of raising funds for the staff here and the animals. Sarda Gauteng also needs some dedicated and regular volunteers to help us ut on Monday mornings,” said branch secretary Nicole Christie.

Enjoy some fun in the sun with plenty of open spaces for the children to play and if that does not get them riled up, there is always the jungle gym and swing space that will keep them entertained.

“We have more than 100 children that ride with us weekly and for each child that rides, we have three on the waiting list. We really need help from the community in keeping our doors open for the disabled,” reiterated Sarda’s fundraiser Julia Morris.

Sarda Gauteng is a non-profit organisation and receives no regular funding or funding from the Government, and sponsorships such as these are essential for us to continue to provide this unique therapy.
