What would you do if your boss accidentally paid you an excess amount?
A man in the Free State was on the receiving end of half a million Rand when his bosses accidentally transferred too much money to his Capitec account.
Michael Mochudi, the managing director of Motsi Civils and Plant Hire paid R568 761 into Phemelo Mothupi’s bank account by mistake. He left a comma off and called Mothupi the minute he realised his error.
The man refuses to return it. He transferred R400 000 to his wife’s account, who in turn placed R260 000 in an investment account. Only after an urgent court application were the two accounts frozen.
