25 injured in Main Reef Road collision

Eight vehicles collided on Mian Reef Road, leaving 25 people injured.

Eight vehicles were involved in a collision last night on Main Reef Road, leaving 25 people injured.

ER24 paramedics along with other services were on the scene. They found the eight vehicles scattered along the roadside, causing heavy traffic backup.

On assessment, no-one sustained any fatal injuries due to the collision but 25 people from various vehicles had sustained minor injuries.

Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and transported them to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

According to ER24 Crisis Communicator Russel Meiring, a taxi allegedly suffered mechanical failure, causing it to collide with the other vehicles.
Police were on the scene to investigate.
