Residents are often caught off guard by load shedding and have trouble planning their days.
A new website is changing all this.
The website, www.sharenet.co.za/loadshedding/index.php is a free service whereby you enter your load shedding zone and email address or cellphone number and they will send you alerts every morning as to whether your area will be affected and also 15 minutes before load shedding takes place.
In the meanwhile Eskom has announced that it will shut down one of its 930MW units at Koeberg power station to do routine maintenance on it. This unit will be down for the next three months.
