Detectives have been put on the murder case, investigating what is believed to be a murder-suicide that transpired on Tuesday night 3 February.
This according to Honeydew Police spokesperson Karen Jacobs who said officers had responded to a complaint of a shooting incident at a townhouse complex in Weltevreden Park.
Arriving at the complex on the corner of JG Strydom and Springhaas Roads, paramedics had earlier discovered the couple in a pool of blood. According to Jacobs police came across the bodies of a man, 31, and woman, 29, both with gunshot wounds. The couple had already been declared dead by the paramedics.
“The couple wasn’t married according to our information,” Jacobs said, and added “the girl received trauma counselling on scene and she is now residing with other family members.
“Circumstances surrounding the shooting is what we are investigating,” Jacobs said.
She said that the station had not received previous complaints about domestic violence between the couple.
