Get ready for stage three load shedding

JOBURG — Eskoms issues stage three load shedding.

Power utility Eskom has implemented stage three load shedding which is expected to persist until 11:30pm.

The further shortage of generation power that had to be taken out of service resulted in the restrained power capacity.

Eskom spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe said the last time the country had stage three load shedding was in November 2014.

“We have 87 units within our fleet and many of the units in the 27 power stations are not working optimally at this stage. Almost all of our power stations are experiencing all sorts of problems currently,” said Phasiwe.

The company tweeted that “Due to a further reduction in generation capacity, they were moving into stage three load shedding.”
