Update: Putt-Putt development revived

New operators do not want their identities to be revealed yet.

Since the ‘putt-putt development debacle’ in November 2014, all construction on the site has ceased.

The controversy surrounding the development included an alleged tender scam, an ANC official and family of deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa.

Good news for residents of Florida as well as the greater Roodepoort area is that the development will soon be back on track. According to DA Councillor Dave Dewes, under who’s ward the development falls, there is a new contractor, a new operator (who do not want to disclose their identities yet) and the building plans and site development plans (SDP) has been submitted.

“This time everything is above board,” said Dewes.

“I am hoping the plans will be approved by the end of February. If that happens then construction can start again and hopefully the new development will be up and running by April,” concluded Dewes.
