ANC 103 year celebrations in Davidsonville

The ANC celebrated the 103 years of the party's existance in Davidsonville this weekend.

The ANC in ward 71 celebrated the party’s 103rd birthday this weekend at the Davidsonville Recreational centre.
Zonal chairperson together with his deputy Siyabonga Masiza and the rest of the cabinet led the celebrations.

Members of the party, youth league, women’s league and uMkhonto we Sizwe military veterans associations were also invited to the celebrations.
The party kicked off with a minutes silence for former police commissioner Jackie Selebi.

Leaders from the different structures of the party then had a chance to make a speech.
The main topic most speakers touched on was of unity within the party. MMC for planning and development Ros Greeff spoke to the crowd about the developments that will take place in Durban Deep and the mining belt.
“In the mining belt there is land that can be used and we plan to develop housing, businesses and factories to make it viable,” she said.
MMC for Health and social development Nonceba Molwele was the keynote speaker.
After the speeches, there was a toast to the future of the party and the cake was cut by Mngqibisa and Molwele.
