Witnesses sought: Man severely assaulted

The Drift Reaction Unit is looking for witnesses after a man from Poortview was assaulted and left unconscious.

Jac Kemp, 38, was left unconscious after being assaulted severely in the early hours of 17 January. He was found lying next to the roadway at the circle to Silverstar Casino.

Kemp was travelling to Krugersdorp from Poortview. According to information shared by resident Terry-Ann Booyse, a group of young men in a red Volkswagen Polo allegedly were seen exiting the vehicle. Kemp also got out of his bakkie and was assaulted savagely, she wrote.

“They jumped back into their vehicle and drove off,” she said in a facebook post.
“He stumbled back to his bakkie, where he collapsed.”

Kemp sustained severe head injuries from allegedly being assaulted with a pipe and had to undergo surgery from a brain haemorrhage.

He allegedly was found by paramedics and rushed to Netcare Krugersdorp Hospital.

Booyse referred to Muldersdrift Police case number CAS 82/1/2015 in her post.

She wrote that Kemp will undergo extensive rehabilitation. It is understood that he cannot remember details of the assault.

Witnesses to the crime are urged to contact the Drift Reaction Unit on 083 600 4380.
