Eskom Implements stage 2

JOBURG – Eskom has moved from stage 1 to stage 2 load shedding.

The power utility has moved from stage 1 to stage 2 as from 11h30 am on 27 January.

Eskom explained that the power system was severely constrained due to unforeseen technical problems at power stations.

The load-shedding would continue until 10pm.

Eskom also tweeted that the risk of load shedding for today is medium to high.

On 26 January Eskom also resorted to stage 2 load shedding due to technical problems.

The power utility said stage 3 will only be implemented if necessary.

Stage one allows for up to 1000MW of the national load to be shed, stage two for up to 2000MW, and stage three for up to 4000MW.
