11 Arrested for dagga

Good news for cops, bad news for dagga smokers.

The Roodepoort police arrested 11 suspects for possession of dagga last Thursday.

According to police spokesperson, Warrant Office Nonhlanhla Khumalo, the arrests took place all over Roodepoort.

The first arrest was made in Van der Linde Street in Princess when two suspects were arrested after a stop and search by the police.

The police then proceeded to Durban Deep where they came across two suspects next to the road and once again after a search found them both to be in possession of dagga.

Another male was arrested at the corner of Kilburn Street and Du Toit street in Discovery. Two males were also arrested on Progress Road in Grobler Park. Two more were arrested on the corner of Corlett Avenue and Progress Road and another was arrested after the police saw him throwing a suspicious looking packet away which they found to be dagga.

All the suspects were detained at Roodepoort police station and will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court today.
