Riddled with patches and potholes

RADIOKOP – Two streets, more than enough potholes to bear.

Two roads in Honeydew and Radiokop have been causing headaches for residents and motorists because they are littered with potholes.

Sijabule Behane, trustee of two complexes in those areas sayid the roads have been problematic for years now and there has not been a permanent solution thus far.

“Die Ou Pad and Katode streets need urgent attention, they have been neglected over the years. There are lots of potholes and these are often patched up with uneven tarmac, which washes away after a rainy day.”

Frustrated motorists often drive on the wrong side of the roads, causing several delays and traffic congestion. Behane said the road has attracted volumes of traffic to and from Laser Park industrial area and the N14 highway.

According to Joburg Road Agency, an inspection was carried out Tuesday, 13 January on the specific roads.
