First day of school runs smoothly

Raining or not, you could see that a number of the Grade 1 pupils at Weltevreden Park Primary  had been eagerly waiting for schools to reopen. Most of them expressed that they didn’t have any fear of being in school. “I couldn’t wait for the school to reopen so that I can start with my school work. I want to see myself in Grade 5 one day, just like my sister,” said one of the pupils Taliah Naidu.

She was not the only one who had been waiting for the day to come, as Lwandile Thomas said she always wanted to see herself in school uniform. There was no time for playing and the academic business was in full swing on the first day of school. Pupils were well settled in, all dressed in their neat, new uniforms and had their stationary at the ready, to prove that they are ready for the academic year.

Among the 204 pupils that the school welcomed, they also had four sets of brave, happy twins.
