Female Hoërskool Florida pupil missing

Chané 'Nya' Naude, 16, didn't attend the first day of school today (14 January) because she has been missing for the past 18 hours.

The teenager that should have been at Hoërskool Florida this morning to start Grade 10 was last seen by mother Catherine Jordaan in their home, wearing pyjamas, at 10.30 am yesterday morning (13 January). The Krugersdorp news reported that they live in Noordheuwel but according to Chané’s facebook profile, she lives in Johannesburg.

Chané is short, weighs around 46 kg, has long straight brown hair and brown eyes.

Chané might be wearing a blue or grey hoody. She left her cellphone at home, causing the family greater alarm and making it more difficult to find her.

She has reportedly been seen in Shannon Road in Noordheuwel. It appears she left a note at home but the content is unknown.

Father Willie Esterhuizen alluded to the note in an Afrikaans message on her facebook wall.

“Chané, die brief wag jy gelos het is nie mooi. Pa worry baie. Ons kan die uitsorteert saam. As enige van julle friende weet waar Chané is laat weet my asb [sic],” he wrote.

Anyone that knows Chané’s whereabouts or has seen her can contact her parents, Catherine Jordaan on 082 855 9166 or Willie Esterhuizen on 079 880 1147.

She has been reported missing to the Krugersdorp police. Residents can also contact Warrant Officer Globula on 082 7588 642 or 011 951 1143.
