Eleven injured in horror crash

One Malawian national had to be airlifted to Johannesburg General Hospital.

Eleven people were injured in a horror crash on Albertina Sisulu last night.

A bakkie was travelling in the direction of Roodepoort CBD. When the driver decided to turn right a flatbed truck travelling in the opposite direction collided with it.

A third vehicle travelling in the same direction as the bakkie tried to overtake it and also collided with the other two vehicles.

Six Malawian nationals on the back of the flatbed truck were injured of which one had to be airlifted to Johannesburg General Hospital.

The passengers, which included a little girl, of the other two vehicles also sustained injuries.

Resident Zane Mannering told the record that this road has been problematic for the past twelve years and has petitioned the authorities to take action.
