Traffic lights fixed following accident

HONEYDEW – Second big accident on the intersection of Christiaan de Wet Road and Dolfyn Street on 12 January.

The intersection that connects Christiaan de Wet Road to Dolfyn Street has caused its second accident for 2015 when two cars collided on 12 January at 8am in the middle of the intersection.

A week earlier, Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) had repainted all of the lines at the intersection, but the traffic lights remained non-functional.

JRA spokesperson Bertha Peters-Scheepers explained that the entity waited for the lines to be repainted before they could give any attention to the traffic lights that aren’t working.

Vital Med Emergency Services spokesperson Tania du Toit said, “We are still unsure as to how the accident happened between the two vehicles, but we can confirm that no one was injured.”

She added that the accident is currently being investigated by the police.

At about 1pm the Roads Agency sent out a team to go and fix the faulty traffic lights.
